The ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 is a prime international cricket tournament arrange by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for women’s teams in the T20 format. Icc Women’s T20 world Cup 2024 Bangladesh
In April 2022, the ICC confirmed the elegible process for the tournament. Bangladesh qualified for the tournament automatically as the hosts. The Tournament will be play at two venues in Bangladesh, the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet as the world’s best battle it out for the ultimate award in T20 cricket.
But Bangladesh’s dream of hosting the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup like to be vanishing due to increasing political issues in the country. In spite of the challenges, Bangladesh’s provisional government is not giving up. They have taken their petition to the international stage, appealing to the United Nations to contemplate hosting the upcoming tournament.
Asif Mahmud, Bangladesh’s temporary government’s youth and sports mentor, met with seven officials from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to talk about the future of the board during political turmoil. The meeting was convened to address the inference of the current political conditions on the BCB and the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. (“The BCB president is missing. Of course, for a alliance to work, all of its organs need to work. President holds an important credibility and he is wanting. But BCB is an indipendent federation and we cannot give them any decision. We can give and take suggestion from BCB,” Asif told reporters.)
The BCCI directly said no to the ICC’s offer to host the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup in October, their secretary Jay Shah has said. It is assumed the ICC is likely to take the final call on August 20. India ruling themselves out as hosts leaves Sri Lanka and UAE as the possible replacement for the tournament awaited to be held from October 3 October 20.
